MONA JHAVERI, PH.D

Dr. Jhaveri is the Founder and Executive Director of Sound Affects. Dr. Jhaveri holds a Doctorate in Biochemistry from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University. She trained as a post-doctoral fellow at the National Cancer Institute and at the Lombardi Cancer Center of Georgetown, where she was granted the SPORE Fellowship Award for Breast Cancer Research. Dr. Jhaveri specialized in intellectual property and technology transfer management while at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research.

In 2005, Dr. Jhaveri founded Foligo Therapeutics, Inc. to develop and commercialize a DNA-based therapeutic compound as a potential treatment for ovarian cancer. In 2010, Foligo’s poor funding position resulted in the shutdown of its R&D operation and abandonment of its lead compound in development. Dr. Jhaveri was inspired to launch Sound Affects to help address the critical funding bottleneck that constrains cancer product development.


CLAIRE SCHULTZ

Claire Schultz is an award-winning strategist with three decades of executive level management experience at Hearing Health Foundation, Amnesty International, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), NBC, Microsoft, and Disney/ABC, Inc.

Ms. Schultz has an established track record of success creating business and financial plans, launching new products and programs, fundraising, new business development and creative partnerships that produce bottom-line results. She is a dynamic leader and manager skilled at coaching and mentoring staff and teams.

Ms. Schultz earned her B.A. in Communications/Rhetoric at Tulane University and completed a Certificate Program in Linguistic Studies at University of East Anglia, Norwich U.K.


LEONARDO CAVALLI

Leonardo Cavalli, an award winning business expert, is skilled at teaching the art of negotiation.  He is also a New York based motivational speaker that travels the world helping individuals get the most out of their lives.

Cavalli, author of the chart-topping memoir, 24 & Divorced, uses his personal experience to show people who are single, dating, engaged, married and divorced that it is possible to discover inner peace.   His inspiring story–finding the strength to triumph over adversity– is deeply motivating and his work as a marriage counselor led him to conduct seminars across America. Cavilli is fueled by his personal mission to guide people through the pains and pleasures of love and life.

As the Co-CEO for The Current Music Group, and through his affiliation with major labels including Sony, Def Jam, Warner Brothers and Epic Records, Cavalli provides oversight and serves as Executive Producer of several musical projects.  He is also a songwriter, video director and recording artist.  In addition to his successful creative pursuits, Cavalli works as an international headhunter for a London based firm that specializes in job placement for IT professionals.


TIM MAGUIRE, PH.D.

Dr. Maguire is a company founder, member of the Board of Directors, and currently President and Chief Executive Officer of VascuLogic LLC, and a managing partner of Vicara Capital.

Prior to joining VascuLogic, Dr. Maguire has worked in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries for over 10 years in various roles of increased leadership and responsibility. These included positions within strategy, global manufacturing, business development, clinical R&D, and commercial teams. He has extensive experience in product launches and life-cycle management including MK-1572, Liptruzet, Victrelis, and Ibris. Additionally Dr. Maguire has raised over $16M in early stage funding, from both private and institutional investors.

Dr. Maguire is a doctoral graduate of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Rutgers. His primary thesis focus was the design of scalable cellular therapeutic systems. In addition, at Rutgers, he conducted extensive work in the area of bioinformatics, and medical devices. In total Dr. Maguire has over 40 publications, 16 patent applications, and over 100 public presentations at a variety of high-impact conferences.
